The Collegiate curriculum framework is based on our values and purposes in six strands; Excellence, Meaning, Diversity, Ethical Conduct, Resilience and Creativity. These strands provide for us the basis of our program that connect our learners to their learning, to their family life and to the world in which they live. This strong foundation is the basis from which all curriculum is developed by the School’s curriculum leaders.
We are a learning community shaped by the pursuit of Christian principles.
We value diversity which contributes to our respect for difference and compassion for others, providing the basis for sound personal values. We respect students from all walks of life, and value their different learning styles, strengths and needs. We seek the excellence in all of us which means ’doing your best’; to achieve our potential we need to pursue our goals and use and develop our diverse gifts and talents.
We promote creativity which includes valuing original ideas, encouraging innovation and engaging with and responding to the aesthetic beauty of our world. For us, resilience means taking responsibility, and nurturing optimism, perseverance and wellbeing. We seek to promote trusting relationships, provide emotional support outside the family, increase self-esteem, and encourage autonomy, hope, and responsible risk taking.
Ethical conduct means respecting all people, and modelling and teaching behaviour that reflects our love for others. We care for the welfare of others, for social justice and the empowerment of the disadvantaged and marginalised sections of our society. By valuing meaningful behaviour we are striving to give our students a strong sense of purpose for their lives. Thus we value life long learning where our students will be futures oriented citizens of the world.
